August 2023 Unfortunately we had to utilize Michael and Dons services again so quickly. They are starting to feel like part of our family. Grandma passed while we were on vacation and when we returned Michael made the process yet again so easy and had so much compassion for the family. I highly recommend this funeral home. The building is small and old but that is what makes it more peaceful. It is the oldest in Shelby County. Much love and appreciation to Michael and Don January 2023 There are no words to explain. We could not have asked for any better service. They were so caring and very helpful with our needs. When it came time to plan the services their prices were the cheapest of all funeral homes that we checked with. Very happy with all that they have did for us. Michael and Don made my whole experience with planning a funeral flawless during such a tough time. They were clear and thorough with everything and did not push me in any direction for my decisions. They were also very understanding and patient with me as I live on the other side of the state.

Doug Wise went above and beyond the call of duty in providing a very nice service for my mother this morning. He listened to everything we wanted and made it happen. All we had to do was show up. I wold highly recommend that you take a look at this facility before making a decision on who shold lay your loved ones to rest. Doug Wise is one of the hardest working people I know and I can tell that he really cares. Ii is amazing how much he got done in such a short amount of time, and always with a smile. Our brother was a Catholic Priest from the Archdiocese of Cincinnati. When he passed away, there were many contacts and rituals to be taken care of, from the Archdiocese, to the church, to the liturgy, and everything in between. The staff at Salm-McGill and Tangeman were professional and handled all these arrangements. They were personable, and kind, and treated us as family. I would recommend Don Tangeman and Doug Wise for their professionalism and kindness in this trying time.

My husband, Jeff, passed away nearly one year ago in August, 2013. It has taken (and currently is taking) me some time to process this finality, and it is concerning this matter that I write to you today. First, I would like to express my gratitude to the many residents from Sidney and Piqua and surrounding areas, as well as out of town visitors for their overwhelming kind condolences. The outpouring of love and compassion was truly touching and very much appreciated.   It was wonderful to us to take with the many people who expressed such positive and sincere feelings about Jeff; my children found these testimonies to be particularly comforting. Thank you to all! Secondly, I would like to take this opportunity to publically thank Mr. Doug McGill and Mr. Don Tangeman from Salm-McGill and Tangeman Funeral Home for their extraordinary efforts to honor our wishes for Jeff's viewing and funeral service.   Both Mr. McGill and Mr. Tangeman were friendly, easy to talk with, and very knowledgeable about end of life issues. They respectfully guided us in making our many funeral decisions. But, what was most impressive were their efforts to help us plan a very unique and personalized funeral service complete with flying the Ohio State flag and Buckeye music playing in the background. Mr. McGill even went so far as to carry water outside to visitors who were waiting in line to enter the funeral home as the weather that evening was quite hot and humid. Mr. McGill and Mr. Tangeman took care of many details for us - both large and small - and they succeeded in making our difficult time a calm and peaceful experience. Thank-you for this opportunity to share these thoughts today. Thank-you to Mr. McGill and Mr. Tangeman and to all of you who supported me and my children at Jeff's passing. I will be forever grateful.
