William Heath Obituary

William (Hector) Morton Heath, 58, passed away at his residence in Sidney on Tuesday, December 8, 2009 after a long, hard battle with colon cancer. Hector was born April 16, 1951 in Mansfield, Ohio the son of William and Muriel (Morton) Heath who survive in Sidney. He graduated from Sidney High School in 1969 and later went on to serve in the United States Army. Hector was an avid softball player who had won two state championships playing for the Eagles Softball team. Hector was not only a softball player, he also coached Iutis softball for 14 years. He enjoyed bowling and golfing and loved to watch all sports. He was also an avid Ohio State Buckeye and Cleveland Browns fan. He owned and operated the Dawg Pound Lounge in Sidney for 14 years. He loved spending time with his friends, loved telling jokes and making people laugh. He was truly one of a kind and will be greatly missed by his family and all that knew him. He is survived by his wife Sherry, son Chris, stepsons, Shane (Kristen) Blackford, Clint (Katie) Mann and also five grandchildren he adored, Collin and Nichole Blackford, Ashlin, McKenzie, and Carly Mann and also survived by his brother, Bruce Heath and sister, Jill Heath. Visitation will be held at Salm-McGill and Tangeman Funeral Home on Friday, December 11, 2009 from 5-8 PM. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 12, 2009 at 10:00 AM at the First Church of God, 1510 Campbell Rd., Sidney, Ohio with the Rev. Philip Chilcote. Hector requested that any donations be sent to Ohio State University James Cancer Center, 300 W. 10th Ave., Columbus, Ohio 43210 or the Children's Hospital, 1 Children's Plaza, Dayton, Ohio 45404-1898.
