Ursula Platfoot Obituary

Ursula A. Platfoot, 85, Fair Haven Shelby County Home, Sidney, Ohio died at Fair Haven on Tuesday, April 8, 2003 at 8:40 AM. She was born June 26, 1917 in Ft. Loramie, Ohio the daughter of Frank and Frances (Hoelscher) Schlater. She was married May 22, 1940 to Robert M. Platfoot and he died August 1, 1994. Surviving are eight children, Ron of Minster, Ohio; Mrs. Earl (Marlene) Siegrist of Coldwater, Ohio; Gerald of Dayton; Thomas of Dayton; Mrs. Richard (Jo) Bergman of New Bremen; Mrs. Thomas (Theresa) Zimpfer, George of Sidney; and Frank of Jackson Center, Ohio; 27 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren; 3 step-grandchildren; 7 step great-grandchildren and 1 step great-great grandchild; three sisters, Juliann Frey of Ft. Loramie; Freda Pleiman of Union City, Ohio; Emma Grilliot of Piqua; one brother, Al Schlater of Ft. Loramie. One brother is deceased. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, McCartyville, Ohio for over 60 years where she was also an officer of the Ladies Sodality and in the Sacred Heart Altar Society. She was homemaker and at one time was a bookkeeper for the NFO. She enjoyed sewing, cooking gardening, playing cards and her family. Viewing is at Salm-McGill and Tangeman Funeral Home on Thursday, April 10, 2003 from 7-9 PM and again on Friday, April 11, 2003 from 8 AM until 9:45 AM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church at 10:30 AM on Friday, April 11, 2003 with Rev. Patrick Welsh. Burial will be at Sacred Heart Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Wilson Hospice or the Anna Rescue Squad.
