Thomas L. Sniffen, 73, Dorothy Love Retirement Community, Sidney, Ohio died at Dorothy Love on Friday, November 18, 2011 at 4:37 AM. He was born October 14, 1938 in Piqua, Ohio the son of Fred Leroy and Nellie (Smith) Sniffen and they are deceased. He married Virginia L. Dilbone on September 7, 1957 and she died June 28, 2011. Surviving are two sons, Thomas A. Sniffen and wife Deb of Anna, Ohio and Timothy E. Sniffen of Lima, Ohio; one sister, Sharon Mendenhall and husband Ron of Ocala, Florida and two brothers, Robert Sniffen and wife Nancy of DeGraff, Ohio and Tim and wife Carolyn of Largo, Florida and four grandchildren, Thomas M. Sniffen and wife Laura; Cory M. Sniffen, Kyle W. Sniffen and Ava R. Sniffen. One brother, George Sniffen is deceased. He was a 1957 graduate of Sidney High School. He had worked at Sidney Truck as a driver and also Wells Brothers at one time. When he lived in Florida he owned his own business making custom cabinets. He was an avid Anna Football fan and liked to bowl. He was a member of St. Jacob Lutheran Church in Anna. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 26, 2011 at 10:00 AM at St. Jacob Lutheran Church with Pastor Michael Althauser. Burial will be at Glen Cemetery, Port Jefferson, Ohio. Friends may call on Friday, November 25, 2011 from 6-8 PM at Salm-McGill and Tangeman Funeral Home in Sidney and at the church on Saturday from 9:30 AM until the time of service. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jacob Lutheran Church, 101 W. Main St., Anna, Ohio 45302. Envelopes will also be available at the church.
