Theresa J. (Platfoot) Zimpfer, 71, of Anna, Ohio, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family on Tuesday, June 6, 2023, at her residence in Anna, Ohio. She was born December 14, 1951 in Sidney, Ohio, the daughter of Robert and Ursula (Schlater) Platfoot. Theresa was married to Thomas Zimpfer on April 8, 1972.
Theresa is survived by three children; Tonya (Chad) Huelskamp of Anna, Ohio; Ted (Molly) Zimpfer of Anna, Ohio and Tim (Raci) Zimpfer, nine grandchildren; Carter (Caileigh) Huelskamp, Macey (Darrin) Seger, Riley and Hayden Huelskamp, Tyler (Mallary) Zimpfer, and Amber, Troy, Aven, and Atlie Zimpfer.
Her siblings including: Marlene (Earl) Siegrist, Tom (Diane) Platfoot, Jo (Dick) Bergman, George (Linda) Platfoot, Frank (Cindy) Platfoot, Neede (Ron-deceased) Platfoot, and Linda (Jerry-deceased) Platfoot. Theresa was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Zimpfer, two brothers Ron and Jerry Platfoot, and both parents Robert and Ursula (Schlater) Platfoot.
Theresa graduated from Anna High School in 1969. Theresa worked at Anna Schools for 30 plus years and served as the head cook. She also was a farmer, a mother and a good friend.
In addition to all of Theresa’s work, she enjoyed going boating at the Ohio River, playing cards but especially bid euchre, watching the grandchildren play sports and show their animals at the Shelby County Fair. She really enjoyed cooking for family events and taking meals out to the fields during planting and harvesting season, but most of all she enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, family and friends. She was loved by many and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, June 12, 2023, at 10:30 AM at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Botkins, Ohio with Fr. John Tonkin. Theresa’s final resting place will be at Loramie Cemetery at a later date. Family and friends may call Sunday, June 11, 2023, from 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM, and Monday, June 12, 2023 from 9:00 AM – 9:30 AM at Salm-McGill & Tangeman Funeral Home in Sidney.
