Russell E. Neth

Russell E. Neth, 80, of Sidney, Ohio, passed away on Friday, December 1, 2023, at home surrounded by his family. He was born February 17, 1943, in Sidney, Ohio, the son of Robert (Jack) and Ruby (Linniman) Neth. On September 20, 1965, Russell married the love of his life Linda (Woodard) Neth who survives. 

Russell is survived by his wife Linda, three daughters, Angela (Bill Leiss) Neth, Pamela (Shun Hatchett) Neth, and Amy Neth all of Sidney, Ohio.  Also surviving are five grandchildren, Matthew Pellman, Nathaniel (Logan) Pellman, Joshua (Destiny) Pellman, Amber (Brandyn) Leftrict and Bethany Slaughter, and fourteen great-grandchildren with one on the way. Russell is preceded in death by his parents, one brother Franklin Neth, and one great grand-daughter Christella Leftrict.

Russell attended Sidney High School. He worked for Sidney City Schools as a custodian for 32years before retiring. Russell was of the Christian Faith.

In addition to all Russell’s work, he enjoyed fishing, watching NASCAR (if he wasn’t going to be home to watch it, he made sure it got recorded), but most of all he enjoyed spending time with his children, his grandchildren, great-grandchildren, family, and friends.

He was loved by many and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Family and Friends may call Friday, December 8, 2023, from 11:00 AM until the time of the service at Salm-McGill & Tangeman Funeral Home.  A funeral service will be held at 12:00 PM on Friday, December 8, 2023, with Pastor Jamie Wellman. Interment will follow at Graceland Cemetery in Sidney, Ohio. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.salm-mcgillandtangemanfh.com.
