Miriam H. (Heeter) Fry

Miriam H. Fry, 90, of Sidney, passed away on Sunday, April 20, 2014 at 12:30 PM of end stage COPD at her residence.  She was born February 6, 1924 in Yagertown, Pennsylvania, the daughter of John A. and Anna Rebecca (Kneppe) Heeter and they are deceased.  She was married to William J. Fry on May 15, 1949 and he passed away on March 7, 2011.  Surviving is a daughter, Bobbie Anne Fry and her significant other, Stanley Pochron of Portage, Michigan and the granddog, Elsie Beth.  Mrs. Fry was a 1942 graduate of Lewistown High School in Lewistown, Pennsylvania.  She had been a long distance telephone operator for Bell Telephone Company and also worked at the AAA in Sidney as the air travel manager and had escorted a large group of people to Hawaii as a tour guide at one time.  She loved to play golf with her husband, was active in the local square dance club and an avid bridge player.  She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Sidney where she had at one time served as a deacon, elder and trustee.   A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, April 23, 2014 at 4:00 PM at the Amos Chapel at Dorothy Love Retirement Community, 3003 W. Cisco Rd., Sidney, Ohio with Rev. Kenneth Castor.  Burial will be held at a later date at Graceland Cemetery.   Memorial contributions may be made to the Dorothy Love Life Care Fund, 3003 W.
