Mary Baker Obituary

Mary L. Baker, 89, of Sidney, Ohio, was called home to heaven on September 29, 2022 at St. Rita’s Hospital in Lima, Ohio. She was born September 20, 1933, in Duck Run, Kentucky, the daughter of Andy and Clara (Bryant) Bryant.

Mary is survived by her seven children Sandi (Doug) Carson, Diane Gregg (Dale Weber), Yvonne (Andy) Kinkle, Pam (Albert) Leffew, Glenda Waldroop, Carl (Sandy) Hayden, Penny (Dan) Riter, Sally, Gold, and nineteen grandchildren, fourty-five great-grandchildren, and ten Great great grandchildren, along with four sisters and four brothers Sibbie (Marvin) Cross, Sallie Partin, Ethel Ball, Truie Hanson, A.C. Bryant, Louie Bryant, James (Pam) Bryant, and Charles (Brenda) Bryant. Mary was preceded in death by her husband Paul Baker, both of her parents, one son Ronnie Hayden, two grandsons Jeremy Hayden and Brad Wille, one granddaughter Nikki Hayden, and six brothers and five sisters, along with three son-in-laws, Ron Gregg, Mark Gold, and Dave Waldroop.

Following school, Mary worked for Copeland Corp. for 26 years before retiring. Mary was a member of the FOE Local 1403 as an auxiliary member and also a member of the Sidney Moose. Mary enjoyed camping, traveling to a different vacation place each year and she also enjoyed spending time with her special friends, Jesse Stanfield and Dorothy Martin. Mary loved to make Christmas cookies for all the grandchildren and babysitting them and she also enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, family and especially her children. Mary was of the Baptist faith and will be missed by many.

Friends may call at Salm-McGill and Tangeman Funeral Home in Sidney, Ohio on Thursday October 6, 2022 from 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM at the funeral home. Funeral Services will be held on Friday October 7, 2022 at 11:00 AM at Salm-McGill & Tangeman Funeral Home with Pastor Tommy Jones. Interment will follow at Glen Cemetery in Port Jefferson, Ohio. Online condolences may be left for the Hayden family at www.salm-mcgillandtangemanfh.com. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Life Connection of Ohio. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at St. Rita’s Hospital for all their help and care with Mary.
