Margie I. (Brown) Elsner

Margie Irene (Brown) Elsner, 90, of Sidney, Ohio, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on May 9, 2023, at Ohio Living Dorothy Love under hospice care in Sidney, Ohio. She was born August 22, 1932 in Piqua, Ohio, the daughter of Paul and Amy (Fenton) Brown. Margie was married to Gerald A. Elsner on September 20, 1950. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald A. Elsner in March of 2007.

Margie is survived by her two sons; Lavon A. Elsner of Tawawa, Ohio, and Wesley P. Elsner of Sidney, Ohio, and grandchildren; Jennifer Elsner, Julie (Anthony) Metzler, and Ross (Erin Bellnoski) Elsner, along with her great-grandchildren; Anna, Mason, Matthew, Bree, and Brooke. Margie was preceded in death by her husband; Gerald A. Elsner, and her siblings; Paul Brown Jr., Mildred (Brown) Hazelwood, and Edwin Brown.

Margie graduated from Sidney High School. Margie was a homemaker, a dress shop manager, a farmer, a truck driver, a mother and a good friend.

In addition to all of Margie’s work she enjoyed humor and good conversation, playing cards, shopping, reading, and mowing the lawn (even when it didn’t need it.) Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She was loved by many and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Graveside services will be held on Friday, May 12, 2023, at 10:00 AM at Glen Cemetery in Port Jefferson, Ohio with Rev. Eileen Hix.
