Janet M. (Frilling) Dotson

Janet M. (Frilling) Dotson, 72, of Sidney, Ohio passed away peacefully on Friday, September 29, 2023 surrounded by her family. Janet was born February 16, 1951 in Piqua, Ohio the daughter of Sylvester and Manetta (Guillozet) Frilling. On October 17, 1980, Janet married Roger Dotson who survives.    

Janet is survived by her husband, Roger, along with their four children, Kevin (Chasity) Dotson of Sidney, Ohio; Keith (Tiffany) Dotson of Vandalia, Ohio; Jason (Kim) Dotson of Sidney, Ohio; step-son, Steve (Melissa) Dotson of Morris Town, Tennessee, also surviving are thirteen grandchildren, Jackson, Sophia, Braelynn, Xavier, Brandon, Charles, Branden, Breanna, Joseph, Tristan, and Sheldon Dotson, Ashleigh Buxton and Sarah Burgess, and two great-grandchildren, along with one sister Judy Maack of Sierra Vista, Arizona. Janet was preceded in death by her parents along with five siblings John Robert, James, Jerold, John Anthony, and Mary Jane, two grandsons Maverick and Maddox Dotson, and one nephew Philp Maack.

Janet graduated from Holy Angels High School with the class of 1970 and went on to obtain her associate degree from Miami Jacobs in 1972. Janet worked for American Trim before retiring in 2012. She was a lifelong member of Holy Angels Catholic Church in Sidney, Ohio.

In addition to Janet’s work, she enjoyed going camping especially at Lake Loramie State Park, cooking, bowling, taking a couple of cruises, playing cards, a huge OSU, Reds, and Bengal’s fan, and she loved her dogs. Janet’s favorite time of the year is the fall and Christmas because she enjoyed looking at all the snow even though she didn’t like the cold, but most of all she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, children, family, and friends.

She was loved by many and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, October 6, 2023, at 10:30AM at Holy Angels Catholic Church, Sidney, Ohio with Fr. Andrew Reckers. Interment will follow at Graceland Cemetery in Sidney, Ohio. Family and friends may call Thursday, October 5, 2023, from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM, and Friday, October 6, 2023 from 9:00 AM – 10:00 AM at Salm-McGill & Tangeman Funeral Home in Sidney.
