Garry Lee "Butch" Phillis

Garry Lee “Butch” Phillis, 67, 306 Dorman Dr., Sidney, Ohio, passed away on Monday, October 10, 2016 at 5:05 AM at Wilson Memorial Hospital, Sidney, Ohio.   He was born September 8, 1949 in Piqua, Ohio the son of Clifford and Laura (Davis) Phillis.   His father passed away in 2010 and his Mother survives in Sidney.   Also surviving is a daughter, Catrina Phillis of Piqua, Ohio and a son Brian Phillis and wife Misty of Sidney, Ohio and two grandchildren, Caleigh Ferree and Damion Phillis.   A brother, Larry Phillis is deceased.   Gary was a 1967 graduate of Houston High School, Houston, Ohio and had worked at American Trim and Stolles in Sidney.   He was a United States Air Force veteran and member of the Sidney American Legion and Sidney Elks.   Friends may call at Salm-McGill and Tangeman Funeral Home on Thursday, October 13, 2016 from 5-7 PM.   Graveside services will be held on Monday, October 17, 2016 at 11:00 AM at Beechwood Cemetery, Lockington, Ohio with Lay Pastor, Christine Mertz.   Memorial contributions may be made to Wilson Hospice, 1083 Fairington Dr., Sidney, Ohio  45365.   Envelopes will also be available at the funeral home.    Condolences may be expressed to the Phillis family on Salm-McGill and Tangeman Funeral Home’s web site at:   www.salm-mcgillandtangemanfh.com
