Floyd Runyon Obituary

Floyd Earl Runyon, 84, 734 Dingman St., Sidney, Ohio died at his residence on Monday, June 28, 2004 at 6:40 AM after a three month illness with cancer. He was born February 22, 1920 in Sidney, Ohio the son of Harrison Ellis and Ethel (Coy) Runyon and they are deceased. He married Rose Anne Heppler on February 13, 1949 and she survives along with four daughters, Mr. and Mrs. Howard (Sharon) Converse of Mountain Home, Arkansas; Ms. Catherine (Runyon) Rieker of Sidney, Ohio; Mr. and Mrs. Victor (Carol) Quick of Lebanon, Missouri; and Mr. and Mrs. Joseph (Sandy) Christian of Covington, Ohio; eleven grandchildren; Valerie and Michelle Rulau, Thomas and Anthony Rieker, Brian and Corey Quick, Nichoulaus, Alexandria, Erin, Benjamin and Samuel Christian. He is also survived by two brothers, Ellis Junior Runyon of Sidney, Ohio and Louis Runyon of Lore City, Ohio. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Eugene and Edward, and two sisters, Eileen Bell and Edna Mae Runyon. He was a lifelong resident of Sidney. He was a member of the Sidney High School championship football team of 1939. He was a past member of the Sidney First United Methodist Church and served his country in World War II as a member of the Army Air Corp. A plumber, he retired from Slagle Mechanical Contractors in 1982. He was an avid sports fan, gardener and hunter. Friends may call at Salm-McGill and Tangeman Funeral Home on Wednesday, June 30, 2004 from 4-8 PM. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, July 1, 2004 at 10:00 AM with Rev. Mark Watkins and burial will be at Graceland Cemetery, Sidney. Memorial contributions may be made to Wilson Hospice, 915 W. Michigan St., Sidney, Ohio 45365. Envelopes will also be available at the funeral home.
