Diane S. Schulze, 87, of Vandalia, Ohio, went home to be with the Lord on April 30, 2022, at Hospice of Dayton in Dayton, Ohio with her son by her side. She was born August 2, 1934, in Sidney, Ohio, the daughter of Frederick Daniel and Marguerite (Berger) Dickas. Diane married Donald Schulze in 1955 and is survived by her three children, Steven (Karen) Schulze of Fairborn, Ohio, Sara Wagner of Pensacola, Florida, Suzanne (Donald) Schwarz of Pearland, Texas; two brothers, Frederick Daniel Dickas Jr. and David Dickas; ten grandchildren, Samuel (Taylor) Schulze, Elisabeth Schulze, Jacob Schulze, Zachary (Abbigail) Schulze, Mary Schulze, Emma Schulze, Troy and Tara Wagner, Jack Schwarz, Jana (Nicholas) Thorpe; and two great grandchildren, Alana and Nicholas Thorpe Jr. Diane was preceded in death by her husband Donald, both of her parents and multiple in-laws.
Diane graduated from Holy Angels High School class of 1952. Diane worked in Vandalia at Westminster Financial as an administrative assistant and at It’s For You dress shop as a retail clerk. She also was a homemaker, and enjoyed a church ministry of writing cards of encouragement, helping at her church, and spending time with her family and friends. Diane was a member of First Light Church in Vandalia, Ohio for the past 30 years.
Friends may call at Salm-McGill and Tangeman Funeral Home in Sidney, Ohio on Wednesday May 4, 2022, from 9:00-10:00am. A short service will be held at 10:00am. Interment will follow with a graveside service at Graceland Cemetery, Sidney, Ohio. Officiating will be her son, Dr. Steve Schulze and her son-in-law, Pastor Don Schwarz.
