Sarah Eileen Purtee

Sarah Eileen Purtee, age 83, of DeGraff, Ohio, went home to be with the Lord on December 25, 2025, surrounded by her loving family at her residence.

Sarah was born on June 4, 1942, in Maplewood, Ohio, to the late Delmar and Thelma Marvin. She lived a life devoted to her family, always putting the needs of others before her own and offering love, strength, and kindness to all who knew her.

On March 29, 1958, Sarah married the love of her life, Bud Purtee. Together they shared many years of marriage until his passing. She was also preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Jeanne (Homer) Seymour; her brothers, Hugh Marvin, Butch Marvin, and Ron Marvin; and her sisters, Charlotte Gallup and Sharon Marvin.

Sarah leaves behind three children who cherished her deeply: Dean (Lisa) Purtee, Beth (Jim) Wright, and Mike Purtee. She was a proud and loving grandmother to eight grandchildren: David (Hillary) Blankenship, Krystal (Todd) Smith, Christina (Bill) Wilt, Greg Purtee, Jeff (Denay) Purtee, Bobby (Alexis) Nesser, Emily (Jeremy) Lyons, and Dakota (Jerry Ellis Jr.) Ebright. She was also blessed with 22 great-grandchildren and 8 great-great-grandchildren, all of whom were the joy of her life.

She is also survived by her siblings: Gene (Jeanne) Marvin, Lloyd (Ike) Marvin, Carl Gallup, Judy Millhouse, Jerry (Linda) Marvin, and Linda Marvin.

Sarah’s love for her family and her gentle spirit will be remembered always. She leaves behind a legacy of faith, love, and devotion that will continue through generations.

In accordance with Sarah’s wishes, there will be no visitation at this time. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
