Rebecca Lynn Gambill

Rebecca Lynn Gambill, age 80, went home to be with her personal Lord and Savior on August 20, 2026 at her home. She was the second born in Knoxville, TN to the late Lillie (Miller) Parke and Kenneth Cox on February 22, 1946. Becky was preceded in death by her husband, Johnie Gambill in 1974. He was the one and only love of her life.

Becky is survived by her daughter, Teresa (Steve) Petrocelli, Sister Patricia Sebree, Two Grandsons, Evan (Whitney) Goubeaux & Lucas (Cassidy) Goubeaux. Four great-grandchildren; Elijah, Addilyn, Ezra & Seren Goubeaux. Survived by In-laws Pearl & Mary Gambill, Hearl & Dolly Gambill, Vonnie & Caroleene Gambill, Ronnie & Donna Jean Gambill, James Smith, Molly Gambill & Virgie Gambill. Becky was preceded in death by sister Linda Gail Wiseman, brother Tommy Burch and In -laws John Wiseman, Vern Sebree, James & Evangeline Gambill, Chilly Gambill, Mag & Walter Owens, Gladys & Carl Keeton, Delmar Gambill, Ramon & Trixie Gambill, Elmer & Lola Ann Gambill, Lola Smith.

She enjoyed trips to the Smokies, Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg for vacations. She always considered Tennesee as God's Country. Becky graduated from Miami East High School in 1964. She had worked at Orr Felt and Copeland before staying at home as a full time homemaker.

Becky was of the Baptist faith. Over the years she was involved in many church ministries. She implemented and ran a church bookstore. Worked in the tract ministry, and was one of three ladies who counted and recorded the tithes & offerings for several years. She loved to crochet, cross stitch and she made many beautiful pieces, mostly for family. She liked to sew and made clothes for her daughter and craft items. She also loved practical jokes. Her Daddy, Kenneth, loved to play practical jokes and she loved giving it right back to him.

Being a homemaker, she babysat for the Durnell family- three girls. They were a great source of joy, especially teaching Stephanie how to play Mario Bros on the orginal Nintendo, as she did with her oldest grandson Evan. Becky was so very proud of the sucessful adults these girls & her two grandsons have become.

If you knew Becky, you knew she had quite a collection of chickens & roosters she had recieved from family & friends over the years. She enjoyed her two grandsons, they could always count on their Mamaw to help roll newspapers for their paper routes & attend their ball games when she was able. Becky was loved & will be missed my many friends and family.

A celebration of life will be Monday, August 31, 2026 at 11:30am at First Baptist Church, 309 E. North St., Sidney Ohio 45365. Pastor John Young officiating. Cremation services provided by Salm- McGill & Tangeman Funeral home.
