Randy Belt

Randy Belt, 75, of Sidney, passed away peacefully on June 1, 2025, at the Heritage Nursing Facility in Minster, Ohio. Born on May 19, 1950, in Anna, Ohio, Randy lived a life marked by dedication to family, service to his country, and a passion for his work and interests.

Randy was an aluminum pourer at Ross Aluminum, where he was known for his strong work ethic and commitment to his craft. He attended Anna High School and went on to serve his country in the Marine Corps during the Vietnam War from 1969 to 1972, an experience that shaped his character and instilled in him a sense of duty and respect for others.

As a loving family man, Randy cherished his time with his wife Janet Belt, son Rick, and especially his grandson Corey, who was his pride and joy. He was known for his devoted and respectful personality, qualities that endeared him to all who had the privilege of knowing him. Randy was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Mildred (Tucker) Belt.

Randy had a variety of hobbies that brought joy to his life. He enjoyed bowling on Thursday mornings and spending quality time playing bingo with his wife at the senior center. His enthusiasm for running led him to participate in several marathons and 5K races, where he embraced the challenge and camaraderie of each event. Additionally, he found solace in reading and relished the mental challenge of word searches, activities that reflected both his love for learning and his sharp mind.

A visitation will be held on Thursday - June 5, 2025, from 11 AM - 1 PM, with a funeral service starting at 1 PM with Pastor Dan Gutman, at Salm - McGill & Tangeman Funeral Home - Sidney. Burial will follow at Pearl Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Randy's honor to the Wounded Warriors Project. Services are in the care of Salm - McGill & Tangeman Funeral Home.
