Martha Lauterbur

Martha ‘Murph’ (Laux) Lauterbur, 98, passed away on Friday, Jan. 23, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. of natural causes at Ozark Health Nursing & Rehab, Clinton, Arkansas.

She was born September 4, 1927 in Wapakoneta to John & Susanne (Remaklus) Laux. She married William J. Lauterbur on June 19, 1946. He preceded her in death on May 27, 1995.

Martha is survived by her 4 children, Douglas (Carol), Vicksburg MS, Amy Hicks, Piqua OH, Debbie (Roger), Clinton AR and Lisa (Ken), Napa CA, and her grandchildren, step grandchildren, great grandchildren, step great grandchildren, & great great grandchildren.

Martha was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Bernard and James, and 6 sisters & brothers-in-law, Mary (John) Mehok, Lucille Laux, Cordula (John) Gehrlich, Aurelia (Vic) Higginbotham, Rosina Laux, Catherine (Tom) Crusey.

Martha was dedicated to her family, friends and Catholic faith. Martha was always curious and loved to learn. Martha loved being a mother, music, reading, classic cinema, crocheting, sewing, cooking and most of all, loved to laugh.

The family will receive friends at Salm-McGill and Tangeman Funeral Home on Wednesday Feb. 4 from 4-7 p.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will be Feb. 5 at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Angels Church officiated by Father John Tonkin. Burial will follow at Graceland Cemetery, Sidney, OH. Condolences may be made on the Salm-McGill and Tangeman Funeral Home website www.salm-mcgillandtangemanfh.com.
