Johnny R. Knasel

Johnny R. Knasel, 62, of Sidney, passed away at Miami Valley Hospital on April 14, 2026. He was born on April 13, 1964, to the late Butch and Brenda (Haun) Knasel.

Johnny is survived by his daughters, Tonya (David) Gillem and Kalee Knasel; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and his sister, Joyce (Chuck) Wood of Sparta, TN. He is also survived by a longtime friend who was as close as a brother, Jim Ludwig; two bonus daughters, Nikki and Heather Ludwig; and a special nephew, Jeremy Knasel.

Along with his parents, Johnny was preceded in death by two daughters, two grandchildren, and two brothers.

A memorial service will be held at the IUTIS Hall on May 16, 2026, from 12:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. Services are in the care of Salm-McGill & Tangeman Funeral Home. Online condolences may be left for the Knasel family at www.salm-mcgillandtangemanfh.com.
