Janet L. Belt, 74, of Sidney, passed away on Sunday at 6:30 PM, March 8, 2026, at her residence. She was born on May 2, 1951, to the late Linus F. and Gladys (Foreman) Siebeneck. Janet was married to the late Randy Belt, who preceded her in death on June 1, 2025.
She lived a life centered on love, family, and caring for those around her. Janet had a kind heart and a warm presence that made everyone feel welcome. Her life can best be described with one simple word: love. She devoted herself to her family and made sure every person in her life knew just how deeply she loved them.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Gladys and Linus Siebeneck; her brother, Larry Siebeneck; and her beloved husband, Randy Belt.
Janet is survived by her son, Rick Belt; her cherished grandson, Corey Belt; her brother, John Siebeneck; and her sisters, Janie Trevino, Mary Catherine Cochrane, and Virginia Siebeneck.
Janet previously enjoyed spending time at the local senior center and valued the friendships she made there. While she never focused much on hobbies, her greatest joy in life was her family. Becoming a grandmother was one of the happiest moments of her life. Her grandson Corey held a very special place in her heart, and the two were truly inseparable. Whenever he returned home after visiting, Janet could hardly wait until the next time she would see him again.
Janet loved everyone she met and always put others before herself. Her caring nature, gentle spirit, and unconditional love will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Her family will remember her always for the love she gave so freely and the way she made sure everyone around her felt it. Janet’s memory will live on in the hearts of her family and all who had the privilege of knowing her.
A visitation will be held on March 12, 2026, at Salm - McGill & Tangeman Funeral Home, from 10 AM until the time of the funeral service at 11AM with Pastor Jake Kirk. Burial will follow at Pearl Cemetery - Sidney.
