Deborah “Debbie” (Crowe) Hamblin passed away peacefully in her home on May 10, 2026, in Quincy, Ohio, at the age of 69. Debbie is survived by her loving husband, Tom Hamblin, whom she married on April 2, 1976; her daughters, Angel (Rich) Gailey of Sidney, Ohio, and Stacy Prouty of Dayton, Ohio; and her grandson, Nathan Gailey of Columbus, Ohio. She is preceded in death by her parents, Tom and Geri Crowe of Greenville, Ohio; Teresa Ruby of Wayne Lakes, Ohio; and three angel grandbabies from Angel Gailey.
Debbie was born on January 8, 1957, in Connersville, Indiana. She graduated from Fort Loramie High School in 1975. Debbie and Tom were introduced by Tom’s mother, Marcella Hamblin, with whom she worked at Fair Haven Shelby County Home. They got married on April 2, 1976, and were married for 50 wonderful years.
Debbie was an active and dedicated member of the First United Baptist Church in Sidney, Ohio. She worked in long-term care, factories, and a few retail companies such as Walmart and Lowe’s. Debbie was very proud of her husband, Tom, for changing his life to serve God by becoming a pastor; her children; and especially her grandson, Nathan, for receiving a full-ride scholarship to OSU, where he will graduate this winter with a degree in Mechanical Engineering.
In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Tom Hamblin; the address is available upon request from her daughters, Angel or Stacy. The family would like to thank everyone for their continued prayers and support throughout this long journey and hopes that you continue to support Tom during this difficult time.
A visitation will be held from 12PM until the time of the funeral service with Pastor Tommy Jones, at 2PM, on Wednesday, May 13, 2026, at Salm - McGill & Tangeman Funeral Home - Sidney. Burial will follow at Shelby Memory Garden Cemetery. The Hamblin Family encourages everyone to come and celebrate the life of Debbie Hamblin.
Tom would like to share these words on Debbie’s behalf:
I HAVE LOST MY BEAUTIFUL WIFE OF 50 YEARS OF MARRIAGE. SHE WAS ONLY 69. SHE WAS PART OF ME, BUT THE LORD SAW FIT TO BRING HER HOME TO NO MORE PAIN OR SORROW. SHE IS WITH THE LORD AND I CAN'T WAIT TO JOIN HER. SHE IS MY EVERYTHING. OUR DAUGHTERS ANGEL AND STACY, ARE THE BEST. THEY HELPED ALL OF THE TIME AND I AM GRATEFUL FOR THEM AND MY GRANDSON NATHAN. HE IS THE BEST. I AM GRATEFUL FOR OUR CHURCH AS WELL. DEBBIE WAS EVERYTHING TO US.
