David William Diener Sr., age 76, of Piqua, passed away on Saturday, January 17, 2026, at Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton. He was born on June 26, 1949, to the late Robert and Ardis (Houchin) Diener. On April 6, 1968, he married the love of his life, Cathy Snouffer, who survives.

David is also survived by his three children: David (Kelly) Diener Jr., Danny (Jessica) Diener, and Christina (Josh) Carr, all of whom were the pride and joy of his life.

He leaves behind a large and loving family, including his grandchildren: Tarha (Josh) Stone, Andrew (Ashley) Diener, Cody (Jasmine) Diener, Mason (Katrina) Diener, Tyler (Cierra) Thomas, Kierstin (Ryan) Diener, Christian (Savannah) Powell, Gabriel (Gigi) Doebert, Alyssa Diener, Lilith Mathews, and Nova Mathews. He was also blessed with many great-grandchildren: Mariah, Kason, Kahl, Banner, Sentry, Kamden, Oliver, Olivia, Sadie, Leo, Logan, Izrael, Raelynn, Hazel, and Walker.

David is survived by his siblings: Richard (Victoria) Short, Randy Diener, Doug Diener, James Taylor, and Deb Baker.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Ardis Diener; his in-laws, Roger and Doris Snouffer; his sister and brother-in-law, Junior and Vicki Auske; and his brother-in-law, Terry Snouffer.

David was a man who loved life’s simple pleasures. He enjoyed fishing, cooking, gardening—especially growing tomatoes—being outdoors, and caring for animals. He cherished family cookouts, celebrating birthdays, and having his children and grandchildren around him. He had a special love for his dog, Zoey, and his horse, Wickey. David never missed a chance to enjoy a cup of coffee or try his luck with scratch-off tickets.

He attended the University of Northwestern Ohio, where he became certified in HVAC, and he was also a licensed realtor. David was the proud owner of Big D’s Spouting and was actively involved in 4-H. Above all else, he was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather whose love for his family was evident in everything he did. More than anything, he was a family man, and the void will now be filled with cherished memories.
