Arthur G. Jones

Arthur “Art” G. Jones, 64, of Sidney, passed away at his residence on Wednesday, September 16, 2026, at 4:53 p.m. Art was born on September 20, 1961, to the late Romer E. Jones Jr. and Ruth June (Hatfield) Jones.

He is survived by his son, Jason Werling; his sisters, Nina (Jim) Jones-Gudgel, Nancy Moses, and Tina Jones; and Emma Hecht, who held a special place in Art’s life as a "second mom" and compassionate caregiver.

Before retiring, Art was most recently employed by J&J Metal. In his free time, he enjoyed playing pool, watching sports, and especially cheering on his beloved Dallas Cowboys. He also looked forward to visiting Safe Haven, where he could spend time with his friends.

Those who knew Art will remember him most for his generous heart. He loved bringing juice to his nieces and nephews, a simple gesture that reflected the thoughtful and giving person he was. Art was always willing to help someone in need and would gladly give his last dollar if it meant making someone else’s day a little easier.

Art will be remembered for his kindness, generosity, and the genuine care he showed to the people around him. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. Cremation services are in the care of Salm-McGill & Tangeman Funeral Home in Sidney.
