Andrew J Schmidt

Andrew J Schmidt, 68, formerly of 205 Lane Street, passed peacefully at St. Rita’s in Lima at 9:22pm on Wednesday, August 19, 2026. He was born in Sidney, Ohio, on January 15, 1958, the son of Valerian and Mary (Luma) Schmidt.

He was employed as a team associate at Walmart in Piqua.

Andrew is survived by his wife - Karen (Counts) Schmidt, for whom he married on January 11, 2011. He is also survived by two daughters, Erin Schmidt, of Vandalia, and Jodi (Ben) Kirtley, of Sidney, as well as his Grandchildren: Mikayla Schmidt, Keaton Schmidt, Adeline Schmidt, Mitchell Kirtley, Madalyn Kirtley, great grandson - Lincoln Fleming; Brothers, David Schmidt of Grand Rapids and Steven Schmidt of Sidney, and Daughter-in-Law, Stephanie Schmidt.

He is procced in death by one son, Jonathan Schmidt; sister, Joyce Meadows; brothers, Michael Schmidt and Jerry Schmidt.

A celebration of life for Andy will take place at a later date. Services are in the care of Salm - McGill & Tangeman Funeral Home - Sidney.
