Wilbur S. Watkins

Wilbur S. Watkins, 85, 315 S. Highland Ave., Sidney, Ohio, passed away at his residence on Thursday, October 30, 2014 at 5:45 PM of an extended illness.   He was born June 7, 1929 in Sidney, Ohio the son of David and Clara Dorthea (Allen) Watkins and they are deceased.   He was married on August 4, 1978 to Roberta Younkin and she survives along with six children, Rebecca Smith of Chattanooga, Tennessee, Elizabeth Cales of Troy, Ohio, Barbara Smedley of Sidney, Ohio, Carol Beffer of Sidney, Ohio, Deanna Haney of Sidney, Ohio and Kevin Watkins of Cleveland, Tennessee; four step-children, Mrs. Robert (Rosemary) Klous of Sevierville, Tennessee, Dale Mathis of Fort Loramie, Ohio, Marty Mathis and wife Brenda of Sidney, Ohio and Bryan Mathis of Sidney, Ohio; sixteen grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren; one sister, Betty Horvath of Centerville, Ohio and two brothers, Emerson Watkins of Sidney, Ohio and Robert Watkins of Sidney, Ohio.   One brother, Bruce Watkins is deceased.   Mr. Watkins was a 1947 graduate of Sidney High School.   He was a farmer and a retired truck driver working at Riggs Food Express and KAT in Chesterson, Indiana.   Gravesides services will be held on Wednesday, November 5, 2014 at 10:30 AM at Cedar Point Cemetery, Pasco, Ohio.   Robert Klous, son-in-law, will officiate.   Friends may call at Salm-McGill and Tangeman Funeral Home on Tuesday, November 4, 2014 from 5-7 PM.   Memorial contributions may be made to Wilson Hospice, 1083 Fairington Dr., Sidney, Ohio  45365.   Envelopes will also be available at the funeral home.    Condolences may be expressed to the Watkins family on Salm-McGill and Tangeman Funeral Home’s web site at:   www.salm-mcgillandtangemanfh.com
