Virginia Salm Obituary

Virginia Elizabeth (Strosnider) Salm, 90, Evansville, Indiana, formerly of Minster, Ohio, died at the Woodmont Health Campus, Boonville, Indiana on Thursday, July 28, 2005 at 10:20 PM. She was born June 1, 1915 in Newport, Ohio the daughter of Dr. James N. and Agnes (Schwartz) Strosnider. She was married in 1938 to Robert Louis Salm and he died October 18, 1981. Surviving are three children, James and wife Sue of Newburgh, Indiana; David and wife Carol of Minster, Ohio and Mike of Beaufort, South Carolina; eight grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. Three brothers, James, Norbert and Aubrey and one sister, Evelyn are deceased. She graduated from Holy Angels School. She was an avid bridge player, golfer, bowler and sewer and loved being with her family. She was a member of Phi Beta Kappa and the Minster bowing league. She had worked at Wagner Manufacturing in Sidney at one time. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, August 2, 2005 at 10:00 AM at St. Augustine Catholic Church, Minster, Ohio with Rev. Louis Schmidt. Burial will be at Graceland Cemetery, Sidney, Ohio. Friends may call at Salm-McGill and Tangeman Funeral Home on Monday, August 1, 2005 from 5-8 PM. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Augustine Catholic Church, 48 N. Hanover St., Minster, Ohio 45865. Envelopes will also be available at the funeral home.
