Vera Kilian Obituary

Vera A. Kilian, 80, 13455 White Feather Trail, Anna, Ohio, died at her residence on Friday, July 7, 2006 at 2:45 AM. She was born July 6, 1926 in Ft. Wayne, Indiana to Cecil and Chalice (Boyd) McGregor. They are deceased. After graduating from high school, she attended Indiana University and began working for General Electric in Ft. Wayner. On May 17, 1947, she married Richard J. Kilian and he survives along with one daughter, Linda Stewart and husband Vance and four grandchildren, Richard, Andrew, Jordan and Dominique Stewart of Anna, Ohio. Also surviving is a brother-in-law, George and family who live in California and a brother-in-law, Father William who resides in Damar, Kansas. A niece, Julia McGregor plus her three children, Nora, James and Clair reside in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Additional nephews and nieces, children of the late Frederick Kilian reside in Kansas. Vera was very involved in the social activities of the GE Salaried Men Wives, serving as president in Ft. Wayne and continued that activity when Richard was transferred to the GE plant in DeKalb, Illinois. Vera loved history and traveled all 50 states as well as many different countries covering six continents. After retirement and moving to Naples, Florida, Vera volunteered operating the bookstore for the Let Us Volunteer organization. Five years later, a move to Ft. Myers to a golf community, Herons Glen, Vera became active in the Ladies Nine Hole Group. Just recently, Vera and Richard moved to Anna, Ohio, to be near their daughter. A Memorial Mass will be held on Monday, July 10, 2006 at 10:30 AM with Rev. Patrick Welsh at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, McCartyville, Ohio. Friends may pay their respects to the family at the church narthex from 10:00 AM until the hour of service. Burial will be at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to Wilson Hospice, 915 W. Michigan St., Sidney, Ohio 45365 in memory of Vera A. Kilian.
