Roger Snow Obituary

Roger E. Snow, 67, Dorothy Love Retirement Community, 3003 W. Cisco Rd., Sidney, Ohio died at the retirement community on Friday, February 25, 2011 at 5:40 AM. He was born in Jasper, Alabama on November 10, 1943 to the late William and Leonia (Prestridge) Snow. On November 24, 1993 he married Caroline Low. She preceded him in death on September 15, 2006. Mr. Snow was formerly of Arley, Alabama; Piqua, Ohio and Houston, Ohio. Roger is survived by two sons and two daughter-in-laws, Travis and Kathy Snow of Piqua and Stacy and Tonya Snow of Sidney; two step-daughters, Sistina Barnett and Michelle Barnett, both of Piqua; two brothers and sister-in-laws, Jerry and Jackie Snow of Biltmore Lake, North Carolina and Charles and Gail Snow of Ada, Michigan; his mother-in-law, Barbara Paulsel of Piqua; sister-in-law, Janet Howe of Piqua and brother and sister-in-law, Nick and Sandy Paulsel of Vandalia; grandchildren, Cameron and Autumn Snow, Jordyn, Brittany and Carter; step-grandchildren, Savannah, Jeanette, Kayla, Danny, Dayla, Jazmine, Ferrara and Sierra as well as many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. Roger graduated from Fairlawn High School in 1962 and Miami Jacobs College in Dayton in 1964. He retired from Copperweld (Miami Industries) in Piqua and then started his own trucking company. Roger spent many years involved with the Houston Volunteer Fire Department and the Houston Community Center. He was also one of the founding members of what is now the Hardin-Houston Pee Wee Baseball Association. He had been a member of the Eagles and was of the Methodist faith. His body will be cremated and a memorial service will be held at the Chapel at Dorothy Love Retirement Community on Saturday, March 5, 2011 at 3:30 PM with Rev. Ken Castor. Following the memorial service there will be a time of fellowship and refreshments in the adjacent Amos Center. Salm-McGill and Tangeman Funeral Home of Sidney is handling the funeral arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to the Dorothy Love Retirement Community and Senior Independence Hospice, c/o Ohio Presbyterian Retirement Services Foundation, 1001 Kingsmill Parkway, Columbus, Ohio 43229.
