Rita D. Coffman

Rita D. Coffman, 89, Fair Haven Shelby County Home, 2901 Fair Rd., Sidney, Ohio passed away at the nursing home on Sunday, January 27, 2013 at 6:35 AM. She was born February 15, 1923 in Botkins, Ohio, the daughter of Joseph and Rose (Ebert) Frankenberg and they preceded her in death. She was married to Othel Bernard Coffman on October 30, 1943 and he passed away on January 27, 2004. Surviving are four children, Keith Coffman and wife Martha of Sidney, Ohio; Randy Coffman and wife Suzanne of Cincinnati, Ohio; Kelcey Coffman and wife Carolyn of Cincinnati, Ohio and Yvonne Coffman of Cincinnati, Ohio; nine grandchildren, three step-grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and eight step-great grandchildren; two sisters, Cleo Ernst and husband Fritz of Fort Loramie, Ohio and Evelyn Seger of Fort Loramie, Ohio and two sister-in-laws, Delores Frankenberg of Sidney, Ohio and Pat Frankenberg of Florida. Four brothers and two sisters are deceased. Mrs. Coffman was a 1941 graduate of Holy Angels School in Sidney. She was the head cook at Longfellow Elementary School in Sidney for many years retiring in 1988. She was a member of Holy Angels Catholic Church and the Sacred Heart Altar Society at the church. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Holy Angels Catholic Church on Thursday, January 31, 2013 at 10:30 AM with Rev. Dan Schmitmeyer. Burial will follow at Graceland Cemetery, Sidney. Friends may call at Salm-McGill and Tangeman Funeral Home on Wednesday, January 30, 2013 from 4-7 PM. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 2808 Reading Road, Cincinnati, Ohio 45206. Envelopes will also be available at the funeral home.
