Patricia "Pat" Pulfer Obituary

Patricia “Pat” L. Pulfer, 83, of Port Jefferson, Ohio, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family at 7:05 PM on Wednesday, March 11, 2015 at the Pavilion in Sidney, Ohio.   Pat was born March 16, 1931 in Fort Loramie, Ohio to the late Albert L. and Catherine E. (Barhorst) Boerger.   On June 9, 1956 at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Fort Loramie, she married her husband of 58 years, Ronald Pulfer, who survives.   Also surviving are her children, Anthony R. Pulfer and Steven J. (Deborah) Pulfer, both of Sidney, Ohio; grandchildren, Nicholas S. (Julia) Pulfer of Shaker Heights, Ohio and Matthew R. Pulfer of Sidney; and siblings, Albert L. (Helen) Boerger of Lancaster, Pennsylvania, Eileen Wagner of Sidney, Elizabeth (Bob) Yeazell of St. Petersburg, Florida and Harold (Rita) Boerger of Leesburg, Florida; sister-in-law, Marcia Boerger of Leesburg, Florida and numerous other family and friends.   Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Urban (Ruth) Boerger, Walter Boerger, James Boerger, three sisters, Virginia (Robert) Prueter, Mildred Boerger, Veronica Unverferth and a brother-in-law, Fred Wagner.   Pat graduated from Fort Loramie High School in 1949 and attended Saint Elizabeth School of Nursing in Kettering, Ohio.   Pat was a member of Holy Angels Catholic Church in Sidney, Sacred Heart Altar Rosary Society, American Legion Auxiliary Post 335, Fort Loramie, Eagles Auxiliary of Leesburg, Florida, St. Gasper Ladies Auxiliary of the Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus, Former Village Clerk of Port Jefferson, former member of the Fort Loramie Chicken Fryers and one of the founding members of White Oak Lake, Fort Loramie.   Pat was a loving and dedicated wife, mother and grandmother.   The moments she had her entire family together were her happiest.   She enjoyed cooking weekly Sunday dinners for the entire family.   Pat also proudly followed her grandsons in all of their activities throughout their school years.   Pat was retired, previously working for Dr. Clay Barfield, OD and many years for Dr. Lee Weiss, MD.   She was a very caring person and helped an uncountable number of people in need over the years.   She always had a very positive attitude about life and as a devout Catholic with strong faith leaned on and knew God would get her through every obstacle that life would bring.   And by example, she taught and expressed the same for her family to live by.   In retirement, Pat enjoyed her time with family and friends.   Spending time with her White Oak Lake family was also special to her.   During the winter months, she and Ron spent time at their home in Florida.   She also enjoyed working in her yard and flower and vegetable gardens along with cooking, baking, crocheting, sewing, and doing other projects.     A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Pat’s birthday, Monday, March 16, 2015 at 10:30 AM at Holy Angels Catholic Church in Sidney with Rev. James Riehle.   Burial will follow at Glen Cemetery, Port Jefferson, Ohio.   Friends may call at Salm-McGill and Tangeman Funeral Home on Sunday, March 15, 2015 from 3-7 PM and from 9 AM until 10 AM on Monday, March 16, 2015.   Memorial contributions may be made to Holy Angels Catholic Church, 324 S.
