Mildred Braun Obituary

Mildred "Millie" Clara Braun, 84, Fair Haven Shelby County Home, Sidney, Ohio formerly of 835 Evergreen St., Sidney, Ohio died at Fair Haven on Thursday, April 7, 2005 at 11:00 PM. She was born October 27, 1920 in St. Patricks, Ohio, the daughter of Henry and Margaret (Schlater) Barhorst. She was married on June 29, 1940 to Arthur Braun and he died April 3, 1979. Surviving are three children, Joan Aselage and husband William of Fleming Island, Florida; Dan Braun and wife Karen "Torch" of Sidney, Ohio; and daughter Kathy Moore and husband Kevin of Vandalia, Ohio; six grandchildren, Kay Aselage Weber, Michael Aselage, Dereck Braun, Maria Aselage, Jon Moore and Joseph Moore; one brother, Elmer Barhorst of Dearborn, Michigan and one sister, Dorothy Sloan of Ft. Myers, Florida and one half brother, Alvin Barlage of Ft. Loramie, Ohio. One brother, Richard Barhorst and two sisters, Irma Peltier and Evelyn Mumaw and two half brothers, Lester Barlage and Vernon Barlage and one half sister, Carol Barlage are deceased. She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary and past president of the Women's Auxiliary at the VFW; member of the Democrat Women and the Rosary Altar Sodality. She was a member of Holy Angels Catholic Church. She had worked at one time at Monarch Cleaners and the Orr Felt Company in Piqua, Ohio retiring in 1986. She had also worked as a greeter at Wal-Mart in Sidney. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, April 12, 2005 at 10:30 AM at Holy Angels Catholic Church with Rev. James Reutter. Burial will be at Shelby Memory Gardens, Sidney. Friends may call at Salm-McGill and Tangeman Funeral Home on Monday, April 11, 2005 from 4-8 PM. Memorial contributions may be made to the Holy Angels Endowment Fund, 324 S. Ohio Ave., Sidney, Ohio 45365. Envelopes will also be available at the funeral home.
