Mary E. Schmidt

Mary E. Schmidt, 72, Sidney, Ohio, passed away at Fair Haven Shelby County Home, Sidney, Ohio on Friday, November 16, 2018 at 12:20 AM.   She was born June 22, 1946 in Santa Cruz, California, the daughter of Alfred and Eleanor (Zamzow) Beireis and they are deceased.   She was married to Richard Schmidt, Sidney, Ohio on December 6, 1969 and he survives along with two daughters, Kristina Proffit and husband Christopher of West Milton, Ohio and Julie Schmidt of Enon, Ohio and three sons, Joseph Schmidt and wife Christine of Marietta, Ohio, Patrick Schmidt and wife Suzanne of Amo, Indiana and James Schmidt of Sidney, Ohio and one sister, Nancy Beireis of Enon, Ohio and eight grandchildren.   One son, John Paul Schmidt is deceased.   She was a homemaker and very active with the shrine in the Missouri prayer line.   She was a member of Holy Angels Catholic Church in Sidney.   A Mass of Christian Burial wil be held on Wednesday, November 21, 2018 at 10:30 AM at Holy Angels Catholic Church with Father Peter Langenkamp.   Burial will follow at the Dayton National Cemetery, Dayton, Ohio.   Friends may call at Salm-McGill and Tangeman Funeral Home on Tuesday, November 20, 2018 from 4-6 PM.  Memorial contributions may be made to Salm-McGill and Tangeman Funeral Home for funeral expenses with the Go Fund Me account at www.gofundme.com/mary-schmidt-funeral-expenses or Holy Angels Catholic Church, Sidney, Ohio.   Envelopes will also be available at the funeral home.   Condolences may be expressed to the Schmidt family on Salm-McGill and Tangeman Funeral Home's web site at:   www.salm-mcgillandtangemanfh.com
