Mary L. Collet

Mary L. Collet, 91, Fair Haven Shelby County Home, Sidney, Ohio, died on Monday, May 23, 2011 at 6:40 PM at the nursing home. She was born September 3, 1919 in Sidney, Ohio the daughter of Ted and Matilda (Hentrich) Gamble and they are deceased. She was married on October 9, 1943 to George J. Collet and he is deceased. She married David Bashore in 1970 and he is deceased. Surviving are two children, Gary D. Collet and wife Carol of Sandy, Oregon and Sue Collet of Pemberton, Ohio. Also surviving are two grandchildren, Angela Nix and Christopher Collet of Sandy, Oregon and three great-grandchildren, Jacob Simon, Cole Nix, and Ashlynn Nix and special cousin, Billie Deck of Buckeye Lake, Ohio. She was a 1937 graduate of Sidney High School and a 1941 graduate of the Evangelical Deaconess Hospital, St. Louis, Missouri. She was a retired registered nurse and had worked for Dr. Lee Weis in Sidney for many years. She later worked at Mary Fridley's Craft Shop in Sidney. She was a member of the Redeemer Lutheran Church in Sidney. Graveside services will be held at Graceland Cemetery, Sidney, on Friday, May 27, 2011 at 10:00 AM with Rev. Kenneth Castor. There are no calling hours. Memorial contributions may be made to the Shelby County Humane Society, 114 N. Ohio Ave., Sidney, Ohio 45365; Shriner's Children's Hospital, 2900 Rocky Point Dr., Tampa, Florida 33607; or St. Jude's Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, Tennessee 38105.
