Louis Frantz Obituary

Louis H. Frantz, 94, Piqua Manor, Piqua, Ohio, formerly of 1203 Colonial Dr., Sidney, Ohio died at the nursing home on Tuesday, June 8, 2004 at 7:51 PM. He was born October 11, 1909 in Versailles, Ohio the son of Henry and Winniferd (Connaughton) Frantz. He moved to Sidney in the 1950's from Versailles, Ohio. He married his first wife, Dora Utz and she is deceased. His second wife was Imo Mumaw and she is deceased. Surviving are his wife, Dorothy Gutmann who he married on September 8, 1962 and she survives along with four children, Jane and her husband Bill Hunter of Columbia, Missouri; Betty Gustin of Crossfield, Tennessee; Donna and her husband Randy Hutto of Helena, Alabama; and Nancy and her husband Michael Sirch of Bradford, Ohio and three step-children, Mary and her husband Joseph Teach of Piqua, Ohio; Jim and his wife Linda Hemmert of Piqua, Ohio; and Donna and her husband Jim Schlegel of Defiance, Ohio; thirteen grandchildren, Victoria Fox, Todd Hunter, Evette Griffin, Edward Gustin, Anthony Gustin, Angie Gustin, Denise Gustin, Randy Hutto, Brent Hutto, David Hutto, Marlo Hutto, Angelo Grieco, Dora Francis; ten step-grandchildren, Andy Teach, Michael Teach, Sue Teach, Jane O'Neill, Thom Teach, Cliff Hemmert, Jill Middleton, Steve Hemmert, David Williams, Ted Williams. Twenty-three great-grandchildren and one brother Cyril Frantz of Versailles, Ohio; One son, Edward, one sister, Clissie Grillot and two brothers, Norbert F. and Bernard F. Frantz are deceased. He was a life long member of the Sidney Knights of Columbus and was a member of Holy Angels Catholic Church. For many years he owned Bauers Bar and Grill in Sidney. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, June 11, 2004 at 10:30 AM at Holy Angels Catholic Church with Rev. Earl Fernandes. Burial will be at Graceland Cemetery, Sidney. Friends may call at Salm-McGill and Tangeman Funeral Home on Thursday, June 10, 2004 from 6-9 PM and a Knights of Columbus service will be held at the funeral home at 8:45 PM. Memorial contributions may be made to Wilson Hospice, 915 W. Michigan St., Sidney, Ohio 45365 or the Holy Angels Endowment Fund, 324 S. Ohio Ave., Sidney, Ohio 45365. Envelopes will also be available at the funeral home.
