Keith F. Downey

Keith F. Downey, 60, of Sidney, Ohio, passed away peacefully at Kettering Medical Center, Kettering, Ohio on Tuesday, May 13, 2014 at 6:00 PM after a brief illness.  He was born October 8, 1953 in Sidney, Ohio, the son of Donald H. and Evelyn R. (Eiler) Downey, both whom preceded him in death.  He is survived by his wife Jane A. (Wilson) Downey who he married on July 14, 1973 and their three children, Jennifer Doyle and husband Dan of Sidney, Ohio, Amy Smith of Jackson Center, Ohio and Eric Downey and wife Blair of Dayton, Ohio; five grandchildren, Blake Hughes, Dominic and Cody Smith, and Ethan and Logan Doyle and one great-grandchild, Brantley Lewis and a sister, Sheila Starrett and husband Wayne of Sidney.  A son-in-law, Derek Smith, preceded him in death.  Mr. Downey was a 1972 graduate of Sidney High School and had worked at Anna Lumber Company for many years as a crew manager.   Before retirement, Keith was a very hard worker, compassionate boss and good friend to many.  In his free time, he liked creating projects in his woodshop, working on and around the house, and sitting outside enjoying the backyard.  He was a passionate man about his family, his faith, and his country.  He was a lifetime member of Holy Angels Catholic Church.  A man that anyone could turn to and he would be there.  He will be missed eternally.  A memorial service will be held on Monday, May 19, 2014 at 10:30 AM at Salm-McGill and Tangeman Funeral Home with Rev. Dan Schmitmeyer.  Friends may call at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Wounded Warriors Project, P.O.
