Georgene F. (Fitzgerald) Thobe

Georgene F. Thobe, 85, Fair Haven Shelby County Home, 2901 Fair Rd., Sidney, Ohio passed away at the nursing home on Thursday, January 9, 2014 at 11:08 PM.  She was born July 5, 1928 in Sidney, Ohio the daughter of James and Gertrude (Adams) Fitzgerald and they preceded her in death.  She was married to Francis Thobe on July 5, 1947 and he survives in Sidney along with two daughters, Karyn Schumann and husband David of Wapakoneta, Ohio and Pamela Voisard and husband Gene of Minster, Ohio; six grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren.  A son, Kevin, and a sister, Mary Weber and a brother, James Fitzgerald preceded her in death.  Mrs. Thobe was a 1946 graduate of Holy Angels School.  She was a homemaker.  She was a member of Holy Angels Catholic Church.  She had been a volunteer at Wilson Memorial Hospital, a member of the Women’s Auxiliary of the Sidney American Legion, Rosary Altar Society and part of the Dirty Dozen Euchre Club.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, January 14, 2014 at 10:30 AM at Holy Angels Catholic Church with Rev. Daniel Hess.  Burial will follow at Cedar Point Cemetery, Pasco, Ohio.  Friends may call at Salm-McGill and Tangeman Funeral Home on Monday, January 13, 2014 from 5-7 PM.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Holy Angels Soup Kitchen, 324 S. Ohio Ave., Sidney, Ohio  45365 or the Alzheimer’s Association, Miami Valley Chapter, 31 W.
