G. Yinger Obituary

G. Waldo Yinger, 83, of Sidney, died at St. Rita's Medical Center, Lima, Ohio on Thursday, June 7, 2007 at 6:12 PM of an extended illness. He was born February 5, 1924 in Shelby County north of Hardin, Ohio to George W. and Florence (Coon) Yinger and they are deceased. He was married on April 21, 1946 to Myrle (Swob) Yinger and she died in 1993. Surviving are three children, Nancy Braunm of Sidney, Ohio; Brenda Helman and husband Ted of Sidney, Ohio and Bonnie McMillen and husband Joe of Sidney, Ohio; nine grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; two brothers, Harvey and wife Adele Yinger of Lima, Ohio and Floyd and wife Mary Lou Yinger of Sidney, Ohio; two sisters, Hazel Leiss of Sidney, Ohio and Helen Hill of Sidney, Ohio; one brother, Warren Yinger is deceased. He was in the United States Army in World War II serving from February to December, 1943. He was a member of the Sidney American Legion, life member of the Salvation Army Advisory Board and Hardin United Methodist Church in Hardin. He worked for Ross Aluminum for 31 years and retired in 1988. He was an avid toy tractor collector. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 12, 2007 at 1:30 PM at Salm-McGill and Tangeman Funeral Home with Pastor Robert Fenner officiating. Burial will be at Shelby Memory Gardens, Sidney, with full military honors. Friends may call at Salm-McGill and Tangeman Funeral Home on Monday, June 11, 2007 from 5-8 PM. An American Legion service will be held at 7:45 PM at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Hardin United Methodist Church, 6073 Hardin-Wapakoneta Road, Sidney, Ohio 45365. Envelopes will also be available at the funeral home.
