Eugene Paul Lochtefeld, 86, 11855 Hathaway Road, Sidney, Ohio died at his residence on Tuesday, February 28, 2012 at 11:56 PM after an extended illness. He was born July 29, 1925 in Dayton, Ohio the son of Clement B. and Otilla M. (Wolf) Lochtefeld and they are deceased. He was married to Celesta M. Huelskamp on November 8, 1952 and she died August 14, 2004. Surviving are three sons, Robert Joseph and wife Theresa of Columbus, Ohio; David of Japan and Anthony and wife Brenda of Ipswich, Massachusetts and two daughters, Linda Harris and husband Mark of Salem, South Carolina and Susan Erbes and husband Jeff of Piqua; grandchildren, Alicia Chiu, Bonnie Frey, Matthew Harris, Jessica Harris, Lindsey Harris, Jennifer Erbes, Kathryn Erbes, Anna Lochtefeld, Abigail Lochtefeld, Pauline Lochtefeld, Joy Lochtefeld, Rose Lochtefeld, Keith Matthews, Benjamin Lochtefeld, Sabina Lochtefeld and two great grandchildren, Ava Matthews and Katie Chiu; one brother, Jerry Lochtefeld and wife Jeanine of Albuquerque, New Mexico and one sister, Delores Kappeler and husband Bob of Dayton, Ohio. One sister, Ruth Lochtefeld is deceased. Mr. Lochtefeld was the owner of Gene's TV Service in Sidney for over 50 years. He was in the United States Navy. He was a devoted husband,and loving father who will be missed. He was a member of Holy Angels Catholic Church and a member of the Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed antique tractors, travel, photography and the outdoors. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, March 5, 2012 at 10:30 AM at Holy Angels Catholic Church with Rev. Dan Schmitmeyer. Burial will follow with full military honors at Graceland Cemetery, Sidney. Friends may call at Salm-McGill and Tangeman Funeral Home on Sunday, March 4, 2012 from 5-7 PM. Memorial contributions may be made to Holy Angels Catholic Church or the Holy Angels Catholic Church Endowment Fund, 324 South Ohio Ave., Sidney, Ohio 45365.
