Dorothy Kerber Obituary

Dorothy E. Kerber, 87, Dorothy Love Retirement Community, 3003 W. Cisco Rd., Sidney, Ohio, died at the nursing home on Sunday, February 24, 2008 at 5:40 AM. She was born July 20, 1920 in Coldwater, Ohio the daughter of Joseph and Frances (Stelzer) Wuebker. She married George A. Kerber on October 4, 1941 and he died March 29, 1981. She married Elmer Deiser on September 2, 1995 and he survives along with four sisters, Margie Hausfeld, Betty Gaerke, Joan Fischer, Janis Wuebker and one brother, Harold Wuebker. One brother, Wildred Wuebker and one sister, Irene Wuebker are deceased. Surviving are twelve children, Dan and Carole Kerber; Bill and Sharon Kerber; Bob Kerber and Mary Ann Borch; John and Ellen Kerber; Linda and Steve Schmitmeyer; Mancy and Mark Bokermann; George and Muffy Kerber; Mike and Sharon Kerber; Fred and Julie Kerber; Alan and Kim Kerber; Joseph and Patty Kerber and Gary Kerber; 38 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; 3 grandchildren are deceased. Dorothy's love of learning was seen in her daily life as well as her many activities. She was a member of the Wilson Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, FISH volunteer, Holy Angels Catholic Church, Altar Rosary Society, and the Senior Center. She was an avid reader and traveler and participated in the international travel programs, Elderhostel and Friendship Force. But her greatest love was her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She visited them often, offering them assistance, encouragement and love, as they built their own lives. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, February 27, 2008 at 10:30 AM at Holy Angels Catholic Church with Rev. Patrick McMullen. Burial will be at Graceland Cemetery, Sidney. Friends may call at Salm-McGill and Tangeman Funeral Home on Tuesday, February 26, 2008 from 4-8 PM. Memorial contributions may be made to the Holy Angels School Endowment Fund, 324 S. Ohio AVe., Sidney, Ohio 45365. Envelopes will also be available at the funeral home.
