Dora Joslin Obituary

Dora Mae "Dody" Joslin, 86, a life long resident of Sidney, Ohio passed away on Saturday, April 16, 2005 at 8:55 AM at Wilson Memorial Hospital of natural causes. She was born April 28, 1918 in Sidney, Ohio the daughter of Dwight and Daphen (Byrd) Woodruff. She was married June 8, 1941 to William Joslin Jr. and he died in 1984. Surviving are three children, William Woodruff Joslin and wife Ann of Maplewood, Ohio; Robinson Joslin and wife Ellen of Sidney, Ohio; Mary Ellen Drees of Tavares, Florida; five grandchildren, Lori Joslin, Amy Joslin, Gail Joslin, William Steven Drees, David Drees and one great grandson, William Steven Drees Jr. and several nieces and nephews. One sister, Phyllis (Peggy) Giesseman is deceased. Mrs. Joslin was a 1936 graduate of Sidney High School. She was active in the Wilson Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, Church Women United, Friendly Circle Farm Bureau Council, Delta Theta Tau, and many other community activities. She was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ of Sidney, Ohio. She loved people, dogs, newspapers, anything chocolate and the color blue. A service to wish Dody Godspeed on her journey home will be held on Wednesday, April 20, 2005 at 2:00 PM at Salm-McGill and Tangeman Funeral Home with Dr. Keith Wagner. Burial will be at Graceland Cemetery, Sidney, Ohio. Friends may call at Salm-McGill and Tangeman Funeral Home on Tuesday, April 19, 2005 from 5-8 PM. Memorial contributions may be made to Agape, 209 Brooklyn Ave., Sidney, Ohio 45365; Special Wish Foundation, 5340 E. Main St., Suite 208, Columbus, Ohio 43213; or Heifer International, 66300 US Highway 33 East, Goshen, Indiana 46526. Envelopes will also be available at the funeral home.
