Donald Ottis Zwiebel, of Sidney, Ohio, passed away at his home on March 20, 2015 at 3:30 PM. He was born in Shelby County to Adam H. and Helen (Oakley) Zwiebel on December 6, 1935. He graduated from Botkins High School in 1953. He was engaged in farming on his family farm near Botkins. He later worked at Provico and Hubbard Feed in Botkins, Ohio. He retired in 1988. He is survived by his wife, Shirley A. (DeWeese) Zwiebel, one son, John Zwiebel of Lima, Ohio, two daughters, Amanda Evans of Botkins, Ohio and Debra Zwiebel of Sidney, Ohio and three stepsons, Steve Kinninger of Sidney, Ohio, Joseph Kinninger of Sidney, Ohio and James Kinninger of Piqua, Ohio; a sister, Betty Benroth and husband Wilbur of Ottawa, Ohio, six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. One son, James Zwiebel and one sister, Ruby Arnold are deceased. He and his wife raised miniature donkeys for several years. They were lovers of all animals. He was an avid gardener and gave much away to friends and neighbors. He was a lifelong member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Sidney. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 25, 2015 at 10:00 AM at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Sidney, Ohio with Rev. Jonathan Schriber. Burial will follow at Glen Cemetery, Port Jefferson, Ohio. Friends may call at Salm-McGill and Tangeman Funeral Home on Tuesday, March 24, 2015 from 2-8 PM.
