Donald Jutte Obituary

Donald Bernard Jutte, 80, 1682 Cumberland Ave., Sidney, Ohio passed away on June 14, 2011 at 6:50 PM at Dorothy Love Retirement Community, Sidney. He was born March 13, 1931 at St. Peter, Ohio in Mercer County to Theodore and Marie (Quinter) Jutte. They are deceased. On September 10, 1955 he married Dorothy Schmitmeyer and she survives in Sidney. They are the proud parents of five children and ten grandchildren, Larry (Quetta) Jutte from Columbus, Ohio and their children, Jason (Joanna) Jutte, Elizabeth (Todd) Kill, and Aaron Jutte; Catherine MacLeod from South Carolina and children Christopher MacLeod and Brandy (Jason) George; LeRoy (Ruth) Jutte from Colorado and children Brandon and Christopher Jutte; Kevin (Dianna) Jutte from Sidney and son, Jacob Jutte and Lisa (John) Brown from Sidney and children, MacKenzie and Madilyn Brown. They also have one great-grandchildren, Henry Joseph Jutte. Donald's brother, sister and sister-in-laws are Mark Schwieterman of St. Henry, Ohio; Orval Schwieterman of Coldwater, Ohio; Dolores Schwieterman of Maria Stein, Ohio; Madonna Brunswick of Coldwater, Ohio; Rev. Edgar Jutte of Mexico; Tom (Vivian) Jutte of Bellefontaine, Ohio. Sister-in-law, Wilma Baumer of McCartyville, Ohio; brother-in-law, Donald (Doris) Schmitmeyer of McCartyville, Ohio. He was preceded in death by one brother Roger Schwieterman of Maria Stein, Ohio; and sister-in-laws, Rosemary Schwieterman of St. Henry, Ohio; Helen Schwieterman of Coldwater, Ohio and Mary Jutte of St. Sebastian, Ohio and brother-in-law, John Brunswick of Coldwater, Ohio and Lawrence Baumer of McCartyville, Ohio. Donald also has many nieces and nephews. He served in the United States Army as a CPL with the Engineer Division in the Korean War from 1952-1954. He spent 18 months in Germany. He was a member of the Sidney American Legion and the Knights of Columbus. He worked for Heckler Electric in Celina, Ohio and in 1965 worked for Sidney Electric in Sidney until he retired in 1995. In his leisure time, he enjoyed taking his family on camping trips all around the United States. He also enjoyed building things and he and a couple of his friends made the first pontoon boat which they used of Grand Lake St. Mary's in St. Mary's, Ohio. He was a member of Holy Angels Catholic Church in Sidney. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, June 18, 2011 at 9:30 AM at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, McCartyville, Ohio. His nephew, Rev. Dan Schmitmeyer will officiate. Burial will follow at Sacred Heart of Jesus Church cemetery in McCartyville. Friends may call at Salm-McGill and Tangeman Funeral Home in Sidney on Friday, June 17, 2011 from 5-8 PM and from 8:30 AM until the hour of the mass at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to Holy Angels Catholic Church Endowment Fund or the Holy Angels Catholic Church Restoration Fund, 324 South Ohio Ave., Sidney, Ohio 45365.
