Claude Harold deLorraine Jr.

Claude Harold deLorraine Jr., 75, 613 Gronland Place, Sidney, Ohio died at Wilson Memorial Hospital, Sidney, Ohio on Thursday, August 25, 2005 at 4:05 AM of cancer. He was born August 18, 1930 in Corning, New York the son of Claude H. and Ella (Bennett) deLorraine Sr. He moved to Sidney in 1980 from Brewster, New York. He was married at the Gravesend Dutch Reform Church in Brooklyn, New York on September 10, 1950 to Lois G. Bloomer and she survives along with four children, William and wife Joanna deLorraine of Balmat, New York; Carolyn deLorraine of Boulder, Colorado; Nancy House and husband Kelly of Tulia, Texas; and Claude deLorraine III and companion Carol Bennett of Gaylordsville, Connecticut; six grandchildren, Kylee House, Britney House and Brett Hous all of Tulia, Texas and Claude IV, Christopher and Colton deLorraine all of Marinette, Wisconsin; three sisters, Margery Lovelass and husband Lester of Vestal, New York; Ella Clayton of Campbell, New York and Ruth deLorraine of Campbell, New York. One brother, Harry Edwin deLorraine is deceased. Mr. deLorraine graduated from the New York Institute of Applied Arts and Sciences School in New York City, New York. He had been the master of the Masonic Lodge 1038 in Corning, New York and had been the past President and treasurer of the Sunset Sidney Kiwanis Club and also the past Lt. Governor of Division 3E of Kiwanis. He had been the circulation director for Guide Post in New York and then the director of circulation at Amos Press in Sidney for 14 years. He then worked at Primary Eye Care in Sidney part-time for 5 years. He loved to garden, play cards and loved his grandchildren. Memorial services will be held on Monday, August 29, 2005 at 9:00 AM at the Hardin United Methodist Church, Hardin, Ohio with Rev. Brian Kramer officiating. There are no calling hours and the body was cremated. Memorial contributions may be made to the Hardin United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 4654, Sidney, Ohio 45365; Shelby County Humane Society, 639 Norwood Ave., Sidney, Ohio 45365 or the Dorothy Love Life Care Fund, 3003 W. Cisco Rd., Sidney, Ohio 45365. Envelopes will be available at the church. Salm-McGill and Tangeman Funeral Home is in charge of funeral arrangements.
