Carol Ann (McKnight) Heckler

Carol Ann (McKnight) Heckler, 81, passed away peacefully, Tuesday, January 23, 2018 at 2:05 PM at Dorothy Love Retirement Community, Sidney, Ohio.   She was born December 29, 1936 in Columbus, Ohio the daughter of John Davis and Hazel (Jacobs) McKnight (both are deceased).   She graduated from Sidney High School in 1954.   Carol (aka Big C) is survived by her children, Laurie (Dave) Griffin, Lisa (Jeff) Snyder, Jeff (Sandy) Heckler, Jim Heckler, and Carol Heckler (aka Little C); ten grandchildren, Jason (Samantha) and Justin (Ashley) Snyder, Chad Heckler, Ryan, Dan and Mike Griffin, Rachel and Megan Heckler; Shawn (Debbie) Foster and Shanda (Brian) Green and four great-grandchildren, Morgan Carey, Seth and Wyatt Foster and Jackson Snyder.   She is also survived by a brother, John (Bonnie) McKnight of Ludlow Falls, Ohio, a sister, Rita (Ken) Schuesselin of Wooster, Ohio; many nieces and nephews and a close dear friend Kim Britt of Jackson Center, Ohio.   She was a long time employee of Airstream retiring in 2001.   Carol enjoyed her children's and grandchildren's sporting activities, boating, bowling, the horse races and most of all time spent with family who were endlessly entertaining.   She enjoyed road trips with friend Kim Britt to watch her grandsons play baseball in the college and minor leagues over several years.   The family would like to express special thanks to the staff of Ohio Living Dorothy Love for their compassionate care.   Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 27, 2018 at 12:00 Noon at Salm-McGill and Tangeman Funeral Home in Sidney.   Friends may call at Salm-McGill and Tangeman Funeral Home from 10:00 AM until 12:00 Noon on Saturday, January 27, 2018.   Burial will follow at Cedar Point Cemetery, Pasco, Ohio.   Memorial contributions may be made to Ohio Living Dorothy Love.   Condolences may be expressed to the Heckler family on Salm-McGill and Tangeman Funeral Home's web site at:   www.salm-mcgillandtangemanfh.com
