Alberta (Bertie) Palmisano Obituary

Alberta (Bertie) Francis Palmisano, 87, 1721 Wapakoneta Ave., Sidney, Ohio, passed away on Thursday, August 13, 2015 at 2:08 AM at Dorothy Love Retirement Community in Sidney, Ohio.   She was born October 15, 1927 in Sidney, Ohio the daughter of Charles and Rose (Watercutter) Behr and they are deceased.   She was married to Robert V. Palmisano on January 21, 1948 and he passed away on January 22, 2005.   Surviving are four children, Judy A. Drum and husband John of Sidney, Ohio, Robert Palmisano and wife Frances (McCarty) Palmisano of Sidney, Ohio, James Charles Palmisano of Sidney, Ohio and Samuel Palmisano and wife Lisa of Yelm, Washington; twelve grandchildren, Daniel Corey Herring of California, Christopher M. Herring of Sidney, Ohio, Amy M. Reffner and husband Eric of West Mansfield, Ohio, Nicholas James Palmisano and wife Tia of Anna, Ohio, Kelli Marie Delauder and husband Denny of Tennessee, Robert August Palmisano and wife Kayla of West Milton, Ohio, Dustin Aaron Palmisano and partner Amanda of Sidney, Ohio, Michelle Phelps and husband Tim of Sidney, Ohio, Jane Boothe and husband Steve of Sidney, Ohio, Lora King and partner Condie of Kentucky, Amanda Palmisano of Yelm, Washington, and Nicole Preston of Yelm, Washington; several great-grandchildren and one great great granddaughter and a niece Betty Jo Palmisano of Sidney, Ohio.   Two sisters and one brothers are deceased.  Mrs. Palmisano had been a cook at Emerson Elementary School in Sidney, Ohio from 1963-1973 and also a cook at Holy Angels School for many years.   She and her husband also at one time owned King-Kone on South Ohio Ave. in Sidney which is now known as Chilly Jilly’s and also owned the Anna Tavern from 1973-1976.   She loved spending time with her family and was always there for her children.   She loved pasta.   She also loved to travel, play bingo, play cards, embroidery, listen to 40’s music and Big Band music and loved going out with her friends.   The Palmisano family would like to thank Wilson Memorial Hospital, Dorothy Love Retirement Community and Senior Independence Hospice for their services.  She was a member of the Shelby County Senior Citizens in Sidney and Holy Angels Catholic Church, Sidney.   A memorial mass will be held on Wednesday, August 19, 2015 at 10:30 AM at Holy Angels Catholic Church with Father John Tonkin.   Burial will follow at Graceland Cemetery, Sidney.   Friends may call at Salm-McGill and Tangeman Funeral Home in Sidney on Tuesday, August 18, 2015 from 6-8 PM.   Memorial contributions may be made to Holy Angels School, 120 W.
